Ship-wrecked

Deserted islands abound here.

Snake Island

Pigeon Island

Our kids call this Pirate Ship Island

and our favouite …

Swallow’s Island

What, and who would you take with you if you were ship wrecked on Swallow's for a couple of weeks??

Award – Marie sent me this You Make My Day Award and I am very touched. Apparently the rules say I have to send it to 10 blogs that make my day. God – how can I choose? I hate doing this but it has been made easier by the fact that some of the blogs that I can’t do without each day, have already got this award – Dive, M Benaut, Tom, Barb, Marie, Jilly, Imac, Neva, Abraham, or Quinto so it is probably silly to give them another. I think Abraham has 5 already.

I cannot connect to my usual server today so have decided it is all too hard so hopefully tomorrow I can let those recipients know.

Beautiful islands. If I were shipwrecked on Swallow Island for a few weeks I don't know off hand what I would take; but I do know I'd leave my winter coat and boots at home:)

I see why your kids call it Pirate Ship Island. It sure looks like a ship.

I’d take a couple of good books to Swallows Island, food, sunscreen, a couple of good bottles of wine, snorkel gear and most important my wife!

I’m with you I too hate passing on the awards. It is kind of embarrassing. But I do have to say your blog does always brighten my day, and I always enjoy my visits here.

Very beautiful islands but I dont think I want to be stranded on a deserted island,I am too much a city girl. :) Those islands remind me of the TV show-survivor, my favourite show.

Love these pictures. I've had a "love affair" with islands for a very long time. I try to visit at least one island along my coastal habitat every year. My favorite book when I was a kid was Robinson Caruso. I would take sun block, flashlight, camera, sketch book, and a good book (perhaps Emerson.)

It's more a question of what I wouldn't take...husband, children, mobile phone, laptop, blackberry....:-)

Lovely place to escape to, thanks.

Congratulations on the award! That's lovely!

If I were shipwrecked on the island, I'd take my new friend from Virginia. We'd have a wonderful time. We'd take our Bibles and our cameras and some National Christian Choir CDs to listen to. But we'd need electric!!! Oh, I forgot!

How beautiful it all is, Jules. Wonderful photographs of so many little paradises.

You know, me, I'd take my dog! And books, and my laptop - or if no electricity (of course there is no electricity) - then a large book to write in - and of course, my camera! oh dear, no electricity to upload the photos. Hmmmmmmmm, Okay - dog + books + writing pad.

And thanks so much for my name amongst your list - it was great to be nominated by Marie along with you, Jules. Love your blog, as you know. it does indeed brighten my day.

oh! the answer is easy... Jane. I could then be a kind of Fat Tazan.. ha! I don't think I'd swing through the trees, it would only damage them.

As soon as I saw 'Pirate Ship' I knew what it had to be called..
Beautiful post Jules... I'll keep nipping back today to read the other comments.

Jules, you keep pulling surprises out of the hat.
We're all turning ocean blue with envy.
When you think about it; you're so far Back of Beyond, you're in Paradise. I always thought it was back out there somewhere.

Gee... left shipwrecked on Swallow Island?
Alone or with some company around?
If with some propoer company around, I guess I would take some water, wines, two or three cool beer kegs, cards, books, towels, snorkel, camera, underwater camera, Tom for the joy of seing Tarz around, and some satellite phone to call back when we got fed up...
With no company around ... help!!!!

Does high tide cover parts or all of these islands? It would worry me.

G'day Jules,

My favourite is the Snake Island shot - wow!!

When do you get to Melbourne? From memory, you said you would be staying at Eureka Towers, right?

Those are beautiful, Jules.
I'd take my girlfriend and some good books, but I think Old Dive would take the royal family and a baseball bat.
I'm not sure who would have the most fun.

I told Jane about this post.. She asked who I said I'd take... when I told her what I put she sulked. She said why take her.. she could do with a rest from me... ha! see I just can't win.

BTW Glad I made you laugh... your comment cracked Jane up, then when she had time to visualise it she was ill... ha!

If I was shipwrecked for a few weeks, I would just wrap up bottles of water, protein bars, and a pen and notebook in a thin but warm shawl or blanket. It would be an easy bundle to deal with.

If I could spend a few weeks on one of those wonderful small islands I would place an ad in several papers asking for somebody to come with me. I'm sure that would help me find the man of my life (it is high time I found it).

Beautiful photos. I think it would be nice to be on an island for a few days. Maybe, I'd get some much needed rest and relaxation.
