Clear Skies - again

Ash has eased and what is being emitted is heading the other way. Yippee!!!

I love a romantic sunset and this one was taken from the front of my place. Bare feet, a bottle of wine and some sweet whisperings is all that is needed to complete the picture - sigh!!!

This view is actually to the east but we get a lot of beautiful reflected light from the sun setting in the west.

Beautiful photos Jules. I'm still trying to figure out where your house is but must admit it is over 20 years since I was in your neck of the woods and the memory is getting fuzzy. Somewhere along the Rabaul-Kokopo Road?

Boy these are beautiful views, Jules. Do you have earthquakes when the volcano emits the ashes?

Dammit, Jules!
When you get to Heaven it's going to be a real disappointment after this.

Great skies again... All that huffing and puffing must have worked.
This would make a great Sky Watch set...

Beautiful. The ash really makes gorgeous sunsets.
I like your way of enjoying the view too...

Hi All - thanks for your comments.

Jean - we are on the other side of Kokopo - if you waked as the crow flies from Chanel College towards the sea you would walk up my driveway (next to Rapopo Plantation which is now Rapopo Resort)

Abe - apparently we have lots but usually they are little and we can't feel them. Sometimes we get sonic booms which rock the house, but at the moment the eruptions are only mellow ones.

Dive - I doubt I'll get to heaven - but I'm hoping hell is as pleasant as this - with airconditioning!!!

Tom - you must be exhausted!!! But thanks for all the blowing - you did good!!!

M B - what can I say - lean forward and I'll whisper!!

Oops sorry jenan - my eyesight let me down - I saw jean!!!

Hi Jules, back again from Bundy. As usual, there is much to catch up on in your blog, especially all your entries on the Kokoda Track. I was originally going to walk the track with a friend this year, but a few health issues for her caused us to forget it ( for now). Both her parents served in PNG in WW2, and she wants to do it to honour them. Likewise me, for a dear friend who also served there.
PS...LOVE the sunsets...I am such a fool for a sunset!

Jules, my friend, with such photos you clearly beat me.
What a view.
And with a glass of wine sitting on the porch?
Marvellous.

You have an admirer, Jules, in M. Benaut who wants to be your sweet whisperer.

Actually I'm sure there are many more sweet whisperers standing by in the wings.

You could use jugular vein for your j in the scattergories game, Jules. I do hope you got some sleep.

Fantastic colors. Have the ashes been blown away now?

Annie _ aaaah jugular - thank goodness i have been pacing the floor all night!!! I think I am safe - M B says that to all the girls!!!

Beautiful sunsets! I don't know if I could take the ash, though!

I just have one question...how long a flight are you from Paris??? Truly beautiful...

Squirrel said...

How long a flight is it from NYC? Just really curious!!!

I had to stop by again to show someone your photos.

Jules said...

Thanks Squirrel!! A flight from NY to here would have to go Sydney first and then early the next morning or after a few days of fun in Sydney you would hop on a flight to Port Moresby via Brisbane and then after getting to Port Moresby you would connect on a flight to Rabaul and get here late in the afternoon of the same day!!!! We could be drinking gin and watching the sunset within minutes of you landing here. Easy.
