Tolai Briefcases

These bilums (bags) are sold at the market and are made from palm fronds.

They are used by the local Tolai men more than the women, so I affectionately call them Tolai Briefcases.

  13. I like the idea of a man's bag but I have no idea what I could possible carry inside. I think it is a nice custom and if I lived there I would probably put a swim suit in it.

  15. The style, for a briefcase, is changing in the US however not quite this casual yet ... I can see carrying such a Man-Bag on a beach vacation.

  17. lavender lady - they are about 33 cm (13 inches) square - roomy enough to get the essentials in!!!
