Light through Ashen Sky Shines

The last of the afternoon sun in the west lit up the top of this cloud, and painted the water and the raindrops pink.

The dark cloud through the centre of this formation is ash streaming away from the volcano Mt Tavurvur.

    Hi Everyone - had a great day yesterday. One of my phone lines died and we had a huge storm in the evening and it blew out my modem so am working off my laptop which has no photos so hopefully it will be fixed for my posting tomorrow!!! Oh the joys of living in Paradise!!!

    Hopefully i will be able to visit anyhow!!!

    This brings to mind the blog I read about the letter "P" and I came across this word----"Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis is the longest word in the English language, and it is a lung disease caused by breathing dust in a volcano." so you be careful taking those wonderful skywatch pictures! See what you can get by living in such a beautiful place! and about those bugs........

    Thank you all for your comments - it has been a particularly trying weekend for blogging with phone lines dropping out every few minutes and a massive electriacl storm that took out my modem - I had to go change my pants too!!! I consider throwing this in nearly every day and then I read your messages and go back and try again!!!!

    Abe - coming from The Expert your comments are most encouraging and yes we bought a new camera - a Canon 40D plus a new lens - Canon Zoom EF 70-200. The ones taken with the new camera were done with a tripod on 100 ISO. So it is a much better quality photo.

    We still use our Canon 300D and these photos were a mixture from both.

    Neva - thanks a bundle!!! I had better google that word and then pack my bags!! We have had medical investigatons done here and they say that the ash we get is quite coarse and not a problem like the fine stuff. We are around the bay and miss a lot of it which is good.

    WHDB is now installing our new modem while I work off my laptop on the kitchen bench with our other phone line connected.
