I must admit I can be quite lazy with Sky Watch. All I have to do is walk down to my front yard every day and just point and shoot. Mother Nature always puts on a wonderful show for me.

It was quite dark by the time I had finished my walk and I had taken a pile of pink/red sunset photos, but this is the one I liked best. This is looking towards Rabaul and yes most of that "cloud" is ash and you can follow it down to the volcano. The ripples were caused by me splashing my foot - I thought it would add to the photo.

ReplyDeletePetunia's SWF
Great photos! These are just breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteSpectacular pictures. I absolutely love the second one. The cloud formation and little island in front makes a perfect composition.
ReplyDeleteIt's the making of ripples that can make life varied.
ReplyDeleteThanks All
ReplyDeleteM B - I am very good at that!!!
My husband spent about 5 years in Papua when he was in High School and I've been meaning to show him your website. Oh no. I hope I didn't already tell you this-I'm having deja vu!
ReplyDeleteAnyway he is writing a book set in Rabaul before the volcanos, called The Cargo Cult. I've read the first hundred pages and it is interesting. :) Catcha on the flipside(and I'd hope it's not this lady's flipside )!
Oh, I just showed him your photos and he was really excited. He even mentions those old war caves in his book at some point. He said he might have some questions for you in the name of research if you wouldn't mind. We'll check back! :)
ReplyDeleteShan - I moved your comments from extra photos as I have deleted that post - it was just a joke and was only to be there for a short time.
ReplyDeleteI'd be delighted to help your husband with his research anytime - just yell!!!
Wonderful photos and lucky for you to be able to do that
ReplyDeleteTHIS is the view from you front yard?!! WOW! It's so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI only see other houses.
So did I mention that this is SO my type of house, and....... can I move in....... um........ maybe tomorrow? LOL
Fantastic photos. We can imagine all that goes along with such views (calm, serenity...).
ReplyDeleteYou are right about Mother Nature, but it still takes a good photographer to get a good shot. These are super.
ReplyDeleteThat stick and bush in the sea......fine photo Jules. Really well done.
ReplyDeleteAlmost perfect capture!
ReplyDeleteSeems that with all that sky and bananas, one could ask for little more.
ReplyDeletePoor Dive. I think he thinks he is in the tropics. He has gone quite troppo, today.
As my grandfather once said, "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery !"
Beautiful images.
ReplyDeleteHi All - thanks for your comments
ReplyDeleteM B - I am very curious about Dive - better go have a look!!!
Chuckeroon - the bush is actually an island - cute isn't it???
Jules - there is plenty of room and plenty of other bloggers to talk to!!!
Both stunning photos.
ReplyDeleteLoved the results even if you were lazy! The ripples added something extra to the pic. Thanks!
