This view of the sky is one that everyone living in PNG is familiar with. Razor wire is around most fences in urban areas. This was taken in Mt Hagen at the hotel I stayed in. It almost looks artisitic!!!
That razor wire looks like a leftover from WWII days. Are things that bad that they must use that to keep people out or people in? We do it here but this country is a lot different than a tropical paradise I would think.
You are right, the photo with the razor wire almost looks like a kind of commercial display for something. Nice Photography.

What a shame that razor wire is deemed to be needed.. it dose however add something to this shot.. I have only just seen you post Jules.. I have linked it on Sky Watch.. better late than never my friend.
Hmm...I've never seen razor wire done like that before. Here, they usually put it on top of a wall or a chain link fence. But this idea of putting it on top of a hedge is interesting. Or maybe putting it on top of a wall and planting ivy or a vine to cover the wall.
Unfortunately we do need razor and barbed wire here. And would you believe that some determined thieves still even manage to cut through both types of wire?!

I lived on the South Coast of Rabaul as a teenager and came across your blog searching for the Plantation I lived on ( Marau ). I remember the Plantation and Rabaul being tropical, I loved it so much,hated coming back to Australia. My Grandmother is buried in Rabaul cemetery.
Well I think I have gabbled enough and I look forward in reading a whole lot more of what you have to offer.

Ouch...don't think I want to tangle with that sharp wire. it does have an artistic bent to it though.
