I know it is only Thursday but have to post now as I will be incommunicado until tomorrow.These photos were taken from my deck at sunset. The tall mountains at the back are the coast of New Ireland and the landforms low in front of them are the islands of the Duke of York.
New Ireland is often covered in cloud or haze, and people who are new to our fair shores often don't realise it is there. One woman walked out one morning, saw the blue rising up from the ocean and ran in screaming "Tsunami, tsunami!!!"
She has never lived it down....and no it wasn't moi!!!!!
Very unusual cloud formation just hovering above the water like that. Beautiful soft light. Just lovely. Really enjoy visiting your blog.

Lovely pictures again. I've been reading some of the early anthropological work done in Melanesia in the late nineteenth/early twentieth century, and it truly is fascinating stuff.

When I have to post ahead I use the "scheduled" function in blogger. Just do a new post like always but before you post, look down at the bottom at the "post options" from there you can pick any time in the future to make this action (you can change it later if you change your mind) -- then hit post.
When you look at you list of posts, you will see this post has "scheduled" in front of it. Use Edit to open it and change the time or date if you need to.
Hi Steve - yes i have used it a lot lately as i have been away with work and hols but for some reason on Thursday i totally forgot all about it - probably becasue i was here but not in an airport somewhere!!!!
