Sky Watch - Reflections
These clouds, reflected in the glassy sea, seemed so close I could reach up and touch them.

Today is ANZAC Day when we remember the Australian and
An interesting fact: The first Australian service men lost in WWI were killed near here at Bita Paka during the capture of a German radio station.
I am posting this early as I fly to Port Moresby tomorrow and then on to Lae for work (will be back 3 May), so will be leaving you in the confident hands of He-Who-Doesn't-Blog and Benson (the Boy Cat). Hopefully they will remember to post every other day and keep their feet off the coffee table!!!!

Very nice clouds and reflections!
War is not a nice thing. 'nough said on that.
Coffee tables are meant for feet -:)
Have a great time away, even though you will be working -:)
Have a nice trip, Jules.
That photo of the glassy sea is so beautiful!
It's a shame I'm not in Westminster today as they always put on a good show at the Abbey for ANZAC Day and our Aussie and Kiwi contingent get all emotional.
It's good to remember.
Nice photo. Have a good time.
Beautiful sky Jules.
Good for you for doing a tribute to Anzac Day. I heard on the news tonight though that the men lost on the HMAS Sydney outnumbered the diggers lost in PNG and Vietnam (individually). No wonder there are tears flowing all over the country.
I thought I missed a day!! Love this photo ... and the history you provided about ANZAC Day. I read about WWOne recently and was amazed by the statistics.
Geez Jules...The cloud picture is Gorgeous......hughugs

Great shot! Earth and sky, woods and fields, lakes and rivers, the mountain and the sea, are excellent schoolmasters, and teach some of us more than we can ever learn from books. mine's up too, hope you'll visit mine.

Happy Friday and safe trip!
Jules I realise I've missed a number of your posts since you are back, and how stupid was I. Most of your latest photos are just stunning!
This glassy sea reflection went straight to my heart, I remember often seeing the lagoon looking like that in Tahiti (I lived there for six years, twenty years ago).
The boy jumping in the water, the pink sky, and then the story about the surprise encounter etc. Just fantastic!
I hope you find your 'island legs' again soon and feel happy, preferably without too much gin to help!!!
Those clouds look as if they are almost rolling in on the sea. Fabulous photograph.
Lovely tribute for ANZAC day. So many lives lost.
*****
Great photo. The clouds seem to be so low!
Have a nice trip, Jules!
Bravo for the homage you have paid to the WWI soldiers.
the 25th is Arbor Day in the states--we are busy planting trees and shrubs today--and all weekend.
enjoying catching up on your last few posts Jules!
the helmets were a bit sad...
wonderful cloud formation. Well done for the ANZAC Day post.
The sea looks so calm in contrast to those beautiful clouds above. You've captured the colors so well.
Did you make Anzac bickies?
Enjoy your trip.
So clear, and beautiful!
Great!!!
History and taken.
I love it.

Beautiful take on the seascape and fitting tribute to ANZAC.
What a beautiful place you live in...even with the bugs and volcano....I admire your perseverance.I think I would've thrown in the towel long ago but I am so glad you didn't!
Lovely Sky Watch! Nice reflections. :)
Oooh that top shot is superb and would make a wonderful postcard.
I'm going to explore Sky Watch Friday as i adore the beauty of skies.
Wonderful photo. Looks like your on a deserted island.
Interesting post of the war memorial - have you seen the petition on ninemsn for Australian government to fund a search for the Montevideo Maru, another Rabaul war story, albeit WW2.
Hope your trip away was fun as well as work!
Jules
