Sky Watch Reflections

I must admit I can be quite lazy with Sky Watch. All I have to do is walk down to my front yard every day and just point and shoot. Mother Nature always puts on a wonderful show for me.

It was quite dark by the time I had finished my walk and I had taken a pile of pink/red sunset photos, but this is the one I liked best. This is looking towards Rabaul and yes most of that "cloud" is ash and you can follow it down to the volcano. The ripples were caused by me splashing my foot - I thought it would add to the photo.

Amazing photos, and thanks for the little ripple, it made the photo much more appealing! What an incredible scene really ... you're not in any danger there, are you?

I can't imagine having such amazing views right out front! I feel very lucky to have found your blog so at least I can see photos like this and live the beach life vicariously. And yes, giving us a little bit of ripple was a nice touch for that photo.

I knew you would have an awesome skywatch...the bar is high in this crowd! I might have to just enjoy the view....nothing like that here!

Turner! That's what your first picture looks like: a Turner sky!
Not too bad for a point and shoot. ;)
It was an excellent idea to ripple that water a bit.

Spectacular pictures. I absolutely love the second one. The cloud formation and little island in front makes a perfect composition.

My husband spent about 5 years in Papua when he was in High School and I've been meaning to show him your website. Oh no. I hope I didn't already tell you this-I'm having deja vu!
Anyway he is writing a book set in Rabaul before the volcanos, called The Cargo Cult. I've read the first hundred pages and it is interesting. :) Catcha on the flipside(and I'd hope it's not this lady's flipside )!

shan said...

Oh, I just showed him your photos and he was really excited. He even mentions those old war caves in his book at some point. He said he might have some questions for you in the name of research if you wouldn't mind. We'll check back! :)

Jules said...

Shan - I moved your comments from extra photos as I have deleted that post - it was just a joke and was only to be there for a short time.

I'd be delighted to help your husband with his research anytime - just yell!!!

Fantastic photos. We can imagine all that goes along with such views (calm, serenity...).

You are right about Mother Nature, but it still takes a good photographer to get a good shot. These are super.

Almost perfect capture!

Seems that with all that sky and bananas, one could ask for little more.
Poor Dive. I think he thinks he is in the tropics. He has gone quite troppo, today.
As my grandfather once said, "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery !"

Beautiful images.

Jules said...

Hi All - thanks for your comments

M B - I am very curious about Dive - better go have a look!!!

Chuckeroon - the bush is actually an island - cute isn't it???

Jules - there is plenty of room and plenty of other bloggers to talk to!!!
