This view of the sky is one that everyone living in PNG is familiar with. Razor wire is around most fences in urban areas. This was taken in Mt Hagen at the hotel I stayed in. It almost looks artisitic!!!

Thank God for That!!!lolol...I'm Fixin 'ta make you come Home!!!LOL...Happy and SAFE day sweetheart!!hughugs
That razor wire looks like a leftover from WWII days. Are things that bad that they must use that to keep people out or people in? We do it here but this country is a lot different than a tropical paradise I would think.
You are right, the photo with the razor wire almost looks like a kind of commercial display for something. Nice Photography.
Ouch...don't think I want to tangle with that sharp wire. it does have an artistic bent to it though.
Nice photo for SWF. Your previous photos are so wonderful too, you shared with us the daily life of the people staying there. Very interesting. Have a nice weekend.
That is some serious razor wire...wow...nice shot!
the same here, houses use razor wire, including mine.
There's bound to be a story behind razor wire.
Glad it's not needed down your way, Jules.
Dennis thought the wire was moving! shiny shot!
Hi Jules! Back home and profiting from the Lisbon’s Day holiday (St. Anthony of Lisbon, not Padua), I’m trying to catch up your posts (What a nice week: June 10th, Portugal’s Day; June 13th, Lisbon’s Day… ;)).
Razor wire is always a bit sad, even if this looks nicer than usual... Loved to see the Mt. Hagen series and the fishing pictures!!
Thanks for your comments at Blogtrotter, which is now landed in Santiago de Compostela, Spain! Hope you enjoy, and have a nice weekend!
It does look artistic. Wouldn't want to brush up against it!
I’m curious, why the razor wire?
What a shame that razor wire is deemed to be needed.. it dose however add something to this shot..
I have only just seen you post Jules.. I have linked it on Sky Watch.. better late than never my friend.
It looks artistic.
Beautiful!
The last shot, illustrating freedom is charming and cute. :)
Both beautiful shots Jules.
Visit my Colours of Vision.
Nice shots!
Wow, razor wire. I'd call that first one "Dangerous Beauty!" It is an artistic composition, though.
That top shot is sinister, Jules, but what a beautiful shot of the children!
Hi All - thanks for popping in. Will try and get back to you over the next few days!!!
"Louis" missed you when he was making the rounds last Sky Watch.
Holy Moly! What's up with all the razor wire?
Hmm...I've never seen razor wire done like that before. Here, they usually put it on top of a wall or a chain link fence.
But this idea of putting it on top of a hedge is interesting. Or maybe putting it on top of a wall and planting ivy or a vine to cover the wall.
Unfortunately we do need razor and barbed wire here. And would you believe that some determined thieves still even manage to cut through both types of wire?!
Hi Jules,I had to join the blogging world just to leave you a message so I am new to all this.
I have been reading your blog for sometime now and have really enjoyed it alot.
I lived on the South Coast of Rabaul as a teenager and came across your blog searching for the Plantation I lived on ( Marau ).
I remember the Plantation and Rabaul being tropical, I loved it so much, hated coming back to Australia.
My Grandmother is buried in Rabaul cemetery.
Well I think I have gabbled enough and I look forward in reading a whole lot more of what you have to offer.
