Batten Down the Hatches

This house, on the outskirts of Kokopo, has a wonderful view...

........but the owners are obviously concerned about strong winds.

Hi Jules! I’m glad I could take some time to get to your wonderful blog! This time to be rewarded with... the back of the house? Would love to see the view... ;))
The snail cloud is amazing! And the busy market crowds make a nice contrast with the cool guy... ;)

Want to have a look at a magic place: Delos, Apollo’s birthplace and home to Dionysus sanctuary? Blogtrotter has it! ;))
Hope you enjoy! Have a great weekend!

Indeed, how is it possible to feel safe with this kind of construction?

I love your photos. Those boulders keeping the roof down actually add to the charm, don't they.

With the looks of that sky, I would too! Great photo, Jules. That's another sight you'll see a lot of in Manila's poorer sections.

Interesting to see how other people live. I hope they get through the storm okay.

A simple but effective way to bean somebody. Wait for a strong wind to sling the stones off the roof. LOL

Those stones might be used to keep the tin from "rumbling" in the wind. (sound that tin makes when the wind blows)
