A waswas we will go

The people in the village usually waswas (wash) their clothes on Sundae (Sunday).

I took this photo on the winding road up to Kerevat.

Hello... nice to see you are back. Hope you had a great time. I see you have discovered the other project we started yesterday. Do you want to join the team?

It is good to see you are back. I hope you find your cat, Benson. I only caught a glimpse of him while virtually house sitting for you ... I'll let you know when the postcard from Hanoi arrives.

In thinking about your photo: In Texas, where I grew up, people pay extra for a tin roof. This is because of the damage which hail storms cause to conventional roofs.

Hi Jules,
Good to see you're almost back cause I remember you said you would be away a little longer than He-who-does-not-blog. I hope you both enjoyed the holiday. Did you get to Hoi An? I've wanted to go there since seeing "The Quiet American".
Are the Prices still on their cocoa pltn in Keravat? I went to school with John and he later did teacher training at ASOPA. We met on campus once at UPNG as he was up for a round of teaching practicums. I guess his mum and dad may have gone to that bigpela ples long antap. There pltn house had the first and only cashew tree I'd ever seen in my life. It's funny what one remembers!
Cheers Pia

Nice to see you posting again and that you must have made the trip without any problems.

Tin roofs here cost about twice as much as regular asphalt shingles but they also last up to 50 years and come in all sorts of colors. Dark green is popular now.

I grew up or was born and slept in a room with a tin roof and the rain hitting it would put me to sleep in a minute.

Interesting. And do they have wash machines, or do they do it in tubs or in a river? (Gosh, that sounds a dumb question, but I can't help it.)
