Rainer & Erika from Germany, are blogging friends who contacted me through my blog when they were thinking of visiting Rabaul. Well here they are. It was great to meet them and this is a photo I took of them at the Bitapaka War Cemetery yesterday.
Rainer is an historian and writer, with many books under his belt, so was very keen to research our local history. We will keep in touch and I will try and do some extra research for him. They are such an interesting and friendly couple who have traveled all over the world, and can now add Rabaul to their list.
Blogging brings so many people around the world together Great stuff!!!

I am glad you all got to meet and that everyone was enjoying the company.
Hello Rainer & Erika. You lucky lucky people to travel to Rabaul and to meet Jules. I hope you had an opportunity to lose a few golf balls in the cemetery for golf balls featured in Jules post today.
Jules, thanks for registering at the Daily Photo Map. A thumbnail of your latest photo now appears on the map ... Enjoy your trip to Mt Hagen.
Great that you met some bloggers, Jules. So they were real, with voices and everything? wow.
Rainer & Erika--Hello, you're lucky to meet the beautiful Jules... and spend sometime in paradise. I'll have to get to Rabaul one day to see Jules myself.
Hallo Erika und Rainer.
Es ist wundervoll, Sie zu treffen.
It's great to see you. Please bring yourselves - and some golf balls to Australia, - we will supply the water !
Jules, I assume the camera will accompany you to Mt Hagen? I hope you have a great week, there. Don't forget to leave a can-opener for the boys.
That's lovely, Jules. I do enjoy it when blogs collide.
Enjoy your break, but do hurry back.
And take lots of photos (as if you wouldn't).
Hi All - thanks for your visits. I spent the day with visitors showing them the sights - we went all over and I took about 100 photos. So lots more photos for future blogs!!!!
Anyhow, I now have to pack and do some work before I fly out early in the morning, so won't be able to do any visiting. Sorry but will catch up when I get back.
Diver & M B _ yes the camera is going so it may be Mt Hagen Daily Photo for a week when i get back.
Bob, Abe & Denton - yeah I was so excited as we are very very isolated here and to have blogging visitors just rocked my socks!!! I'm expecting more hint, hint!!

Hi Erika & Rainer,
Glad to see you made it to the real Rabaul. I have to be content with the blog version--which is brought to me by Jules --thanks Jules!
Now, 100 pictures, we'll have plenty to see for the next months!
Have a safe trip.
One day they will find a way to schedule comments also... ;))
...and JUles, that's what brings me back to BlogLand each time, wanting to catch up with other bloggers I've met, and find out what's been going on in their part of the swamp.
Did you get a telecast of the State of Origin match last Wednesday?
Hope your week away goes well.
I hope you have a greaqt trip. I agree that Rainer and Erika a very lucky indeed.
Beautiful photos.
Lovely image yet again. I hope that the mozzies aren’t too bad though!
I think it's really nice that blogging brings people together. Enjoy the trip!
Thanks for visiting Norwich Daily Photo and leaving your comments. It's been a while but I hope to visit your blog more regularly. A lot of things have happened in my so called life, which prevented me from being more active online. Enjoy the week ahead!
