Elusive Duk Duk spotted

The elusive duk duk (pronounced "dook" as in book) has been spotted not far from my house!!!

This tree was decorated in 2005 for Chanel College's 50th anniversary celebrations which co-incidentally coincided with my 50th. I was quite chuffed when a huge 50th sign in stones was set on the hill, and trees in the area were decorated. How thoughtful of them, but really who wants to be reminded?

I'm still looking for the duk duk so stayed tuned!!!!

That is a funny story :-)) I have never seen something like that. A decorated tree! I hope this didn't damage it. The colors are beautiful.

So, is a duk-duk like the Min Min light or a yeti?

Who needs to be reminded? Wouldn't it be awful to have it go by without any comment at all?

I took your advice and handed a gin and tonic to the little garden angel in my post today. She refused, saying she couldn't drink when she was on duty, so I quaffed it myself.

So that is what it looks like! Good luck with your hunt.

cabacurl - it is sort of a secret men's organisation that wielded a lot of fear and power but now less so. You can now pay them to dance at ceremonies and they do appear in public where women can see them (women are not supposed to look at them)

marie - the tree doesn't seem to mind I think it is in better shape than I am!!!!

annie - I left a note on your blog about that angel!!!!

Lavender lady - I hope I can actually get a photo of one!!! I do have a photo i took a few years ago but it is a print not in digital format

I have enjoyed your post today.

Thank you for visiting my blog and for commenting there. I appreciate that a lot.

I am also glad that you got to know a squirrel for a period of time. They are special.

The picture on the tree reminds me of our Green Man, have a look here: http://www.mythinglinks.org/ct~greenmen.html

I think I like the sound of our greenman better. ;)

We must all be around the same age then, (you, me and Tom anyway) I'd like to someone to paint a tree for me when I become 50 shortly

Jules said...

Lizzy - let me know when you are 50 and I'll organize a tree to be painted in your honour!!!!

You have memories of being young?? Impressive! I think most of my memory cells have been poisoned by alcohol! Thanks for that info about the duk-duks.Isn't it amazing that Nature seems to provide us with most of the dramatic photographic moments.

this is a gorgeous idea. I may be painting a tree before summer ends...

trees are very resilient--I wouldn't worry about a little paint at all-- so much better than nailing signs to it.
