My water babies

Swimming pools are few and far between here. I think there are only three in the whole province. This photo was taken at the CPL (Coconut Products Limited) Pool at the Guria Club, Ulaveo (outside Kokopo). My two daughters were home from school and swimming there.

I miss them terribly and to make it worse one of my daughters is sick at the moment and I feel terrible I am not there!!! So this post is for them.

Oh, Jules, are they far from you? Is it because of your work ? I understand how you must be feeling as one of my sons had to live far from me for a few years.

How old are they?

Bon courage to you.

Thanks marie - they are in Brisbane Australia which is about 4 1/2 hrs by air from here - a long way!!!!. The eldest is 15 and the youngest is 13 (I was a late starter in the baby business!!) We are here for my husband's job and it is very difficult to be without them, but I will be seeing them in 4 weeks so I can't wait.

Oh my I do hope your daughter is feeling better now. Sorry to read that. I am sure they will be fine and you and they will be together soon. It is now 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday here in Ohio and you are already into tomorrow today. LOL I remember crossing that International Dateline many times and how confusing it was then.

Hang in there. The kids will be fine.

the water looks sooo good-- how cute the way they posed. It is hard for young girls to be away from their mother, but this may be helping them to be strong and resilient--

Get well soon to your daughter--

the water looks like beautiful silky fabric, moving in a breeze. the colors and patterns in it are so pretty.

It is hard to be away from your kids. My oldest son lives in Beijing....very far away..but he wanted to learn Mandarin after college...He is fluent now but he has been gone 3 years this Aug. He comes home once or twice a year if I can afford it! He will stay until after the Olympics in 08/08/08 and then we will see. Even though the other 2 are near me, still miss that one! Glad you get to go and see them soon!

It must be hard for you Jules. I'm sure they will both enjoy being the stars of your blog today.

Crikey; it's hard when they are so remote. I have one in each of; -London, Munich, Basel and Sydney.
I surely commiserate with you, Jules. Perhaps it gets you to Brisbane sometimes for those long, lost hugs.
