Flowers and my version of an Autumn leaf

The frangipani which grows wild up here, is East New Britain’s floral emblem. We get them in other colours too, but this is my favourite.

While photographing the frangipani in my garden yesterday I was suddenly startled to see high up in the tree what looked like to be an "Autumn" leaf. I rubbed my eyes thinking that I had been looking at Dive's blog for too long but no…..an "Autumn" leaf had stuck its little head out into the tropical sunshine.

HWDB said I was longlong from being out in said-tropical-sunshine too long and that it was a dead leaf not a sign of cooler weather. But no I argued, look……

So there Dive, I no longer feel intimidated by all those Autumn leaves being posted on blogs in the Northern Hemisphere. I too can hold my head up high and post my "Autumn" leaf!!!

Hope you can visit my new blog Vietnam – same same but different

The frangipani looks to good to be true. I say that's a good and proper autumn leaf you've found there, too!

Beautiful frangipani plant and very nice picture. Don't lament the lack of autumn leaves where you are. Remember, we might get the pretty colors in the northern hemispher (for a very short while), but we then get cold and damp days (brrrr!), while you will still be nice and warm on your tropical island!

AH yes...good one Jules. I have also been feeling very left out in not having 'autumn leaves' to post photos of.When it stops raining, i will venture out and see if I can find a similar 'autumn 'leaf'.
HOWEVER, i have become addicted to feasting on beautiful autumn pictures on blogs each day.

It is an Autumn leaf in yellow. Or a sick leaf suffering from an iron deficiency. LOL

I worked all day on Friday trying to create a layout for my backyard wildlife photos.

I would appreciate your going there and having a look and then tell me if it looked OK on your browser. I would suggest the Starlings and am using that to see the response from all over. Also you can click the link on that page (starlings) and send me an email if you would about how it looked. It works here on IE or Internet Explorer but for some reason looks bad in Firefox.

Thanks.

Hey Jules,
Just blog cruising and found your photo shop instructions on your sing sing piece.
I've been wondering how this was done and your instructions were so much easier to follow than the photo shop book so thanks.

The smell of the frangipani in the tropics.
There's hardly a nicer smell on the face of God's Earth.
I said, hardly !

I'm so glad you found one at last, Jules.
