Sing sing for Bishop

This photo was also taken at the sing sing for the Bishop. My friend Geoff took it and I played with it in photoshop. Yesterday some of you asked me how to do this - instructions are in the comment's page.

Notice her face paint and grass skirt – so thought-provoking isn’t it??

Hope you can visit my new blog Vietnam – same same but different

PS - My phone lines are more hopeless than usual at the moment with consistent drop-outs and slow to nil downloading. I managed to get to some of you today but gave up in disgust. It took two hours to post my blogs yesterday because of the delays. I am going crazy!!!!

PS make sure you save it as a JPG file otherwise you'll have problems with it.

I like this photo how you left the one in color. It draws attention to the one person you want to draw attention to.

Howdy, Jules,
It must be culturally superb to go to a sing sing or a church service attended by the local people.
They must put the power of their music into it.
Perhaps we should work out how to share these sounds. Just another thing to learn, and be challenged by.
I hope your internet connection is not causing you more grief then you can handle, but we certainly do appreciate all your efforts.
Thanks mate, we love it all !!

Rabaul is now a "selected item" in the side bar.

My post today is a silhouette shot of canoes setting out onto the river.

I wish I had a fix for your phone lines...you bring us such colorful and interesting photos. Your home is not one I would have thought to visit, until I found your blog.

Great photo! Thanks for the instructions on how to do this as well! I will have to try sometime in the future.

Thanks for visiting my NorthBayPhoto blog. As for the word stubby, I think it's more a British Empire thing which would explain why both the Australians and Canadians used that term for their short bottle beers.

Hi Jules'
I found myself thinking on you in Rabaul and about supply and demand and availability of mushrooms or not and now the phone lines!
Do you know that having too much choice confuses me even to this day and G says it's because I grew up in PNG and was never faced with a choice of more than two products at a time. Op shopping was all the rage when I did post grad in Canberra but where my Aussie mates saw all the possibilities, I only saw a huge amorphous blur. I am convinced that I can't distinguish between all the different permutations because of the lack of variety in the shops when I was growing up. I am a failure as a consumer.
G has a new Mac notebook and the latest adobe programs so he's in artist's heaven. Your phot'o are great.
Cheers Pia

Hi Jules,

It's wonderful to see the people of Rabaul in your photos. How you emphasize the photos in Photoshop is quite interesting too.

It's valiant of you to blog with dial-up. If I hadn't been able to get fast speed I'm sure I would have given up by now.

Amazing color cutout work. It really highlights the photos. Beautifully done.

Without the context the caption for today's photo may mean 'prison for the bishop' because 'Sing Sing' is the name of a maximum security prison in New York state. :)

Thanks for the instructions on the coloring stuff.
